MOD 44 - Vegetation Cover Conversion
Description:
The MOD44 suite provides a database of land cover and change. Products are derived from 16-day composites of MODIS reflective and emissive bands at their nominal resolu-tions. The MOD44B Vegetation Continuous Fields provides 250 m sub-pixel estimates of percent woody, herbaceous and bare cover along with leaf type and longevity. The user is able to avoid constraints present in ordinal land cover maps which make a priori decisions regarding class definitions. The MOD44A Vegetative Cover Conversion pro-vides a global alarm of land cover change at a 250 m spatial resolution. Included are per-sistent change via deforestation, burning and inundation.
