Validation Meetings and Workshops

Validation Readiness Review workshop, November 17, 1999

    Hosted by MODLAND & NASA Code 923, in conjunction with ORNL and EDC DAACS
    The goals of this workshop were to:
    •      Share information on validation infrastructure
    •      Review current and planned validation activities
    •      Discuss how to connect validation investigations with instrument science teams to produce estimates of product uncertainty
    •      Construct the foundation for a document on land validation procedures
    A copy of presenations and list of attendees are available at the meeting web site

LAI/FPAR Protocol Development meeting, October 12-13, 1998

Hosted by Boston University.
Meeting resulted in protocol description in Earth Observer article "Global Validation of EOS LAI and FPAR Products" by Jeff Privette, Ranga Myneni, Jeff Morisette, and Chris Justice.

Mercury System

Previous to launch ORNL DAAC developed the Mercury system for registering and distributing field and airborne validation data.
